JEROME — Balanced scoring and hot shooting led the 3A Bulldogs to a blowout win over the 4A Tigers at the Magic Valley Holiday Classic.

Kimberly, which has won four straight games, followed up a 13-13 first quarter with a 29-12 second and a 19-8 third on Wednesday.

“Basketball’s a little bit easier when the ball’s going in the basket,” Kimberly coach Daren Garey said. “(Braxton) Hammond really gave us a nice lift. He came in and hit three 3s in that (second) quarter that really sparked us.”

Gage Burnham scored a game-high 13 points, and Hammond added 11 for the Bulldogs (6-2), who play Shelley in the tournament’s consolation championship Thursday morning at Jerome High School.

Cole Baker led Jerome (2-5) with 10 points. The Tigers host Mountain Home on Thursday to wrap up the tournament.
