BUHL – Buhl rolled to a 3-1 win over 4A Jerome in a nonconference matchup Tuesday. The Indians won the first set 25-9. The Tigers rallied to win the second set 25-17, but Buhl rebounded to win the next two, 25-19 and 25-13.
“They came out with a lot of intensity to start the match. They communicated well and worked together,” said Buhl head coach Denny Moretto. “By the second set, we lost our communication, which drove our play down. But by the fourth set, we were back to where to we started the match.”
Kylie Crossland led the Indians with seven kills, and Monica Oviedo added five kills. Sage Eckert had four aces and Mckenna Lively had three blocks.
Buhl (2-1) next travels to Gooding on Thursday. Jerome (0-1) plays in the Peg Peterson Invitational at Highland starting on Friday.
Burley 2, Century 0; Burley 2, Pocatello 0
RUPERT — Burley swept a tri-match in Rupert Tuesday, knocking off perennial state championship contender Century 25-21 and 25-23, and beating Pocatello 25-17 and 25-13.
Century 2, Minico 0; Minico 2; Pocatello 0
RUPERT — Minico split a home tri-match with Century and Pocatello on Tuesday. The Spartans lost 29-27 and 25-23 to Century, and beat Pocatello 25-17 and 25-15.
Minico next plays in the Peg Peterson Invitational at Highland starting on Friday.
Carey 2, Hagerman 0; Hagerman 2, Murtaugh 0
MURTAUGH – Hagerman split two matches in a tri-match Tuesday.
The Pirates were swept by Carey, then swept Murtaugh. Between the two short matches, Elly Yore had nine kills and 11 digs, and Christina Robinson had seven kills and 10 digs.
Hagerman (2-1) next travels to Lighthouse Christian next Wednesday.
Valley 2, Castleford 0; Castleford 2, Wendell 0; Valley 2, Wendell 0
WENDELL – In a tri-match held at Wendell, Valley defeated Castleford, 25-23, 25-19 and also beat Wendell, 25-13, 25-15. In the third match, the Wolves beat the host Trojans 25-11, 25-16. Valley hosts Declo on Wednesday, Wendell is at Kimberly on Thursday and Castleford is at Dietrich on Tuesday.
Twin Falls 3, Preston 0; Twin Falls 3, Rigby 0
TWIN FALLS – The Twin Falls Bruins cruised to a pair of wins Tuesday. Twin Falls beat Preston 25-9, 25-15 and 25-9, and beat Rigby 25-11, 25-15 and 25-21.
Bliss 5, Community School 2
SUN VALLEY — The Bliss Bears knocked off the defending state runner-up Community School Cutthroats on the road Tuesday. Cash Dart and Ridley Lindstrom scored the Cutthroats’ two goals. No other details were available at press time.

BUHL — The Indians held off the Senators for thier first win of the season.
Dustin Dominguez, Mauricio Velazquez and Victor Quezada scored for Buhl (1-1, 1-1 High Desert Conference), which plays at Filer on Thursday.
Gooding (0-3-1, 0-2-1) next hosts Declo the same day.

SUN VALLEY – With Lily Fitzgerald recording a hat trick and six other Community School players scoring single goals, the Cutthroats (5-0, 3-0) defeated the visiting Bears 9-0, Libby Kaiser, Ella Viesturs, Kate Weatherholz, Addie Rafford, Caroline Estep and Christine Estep added goals and Fitzgerald, Crosby Boe, Caroline Estep, Rylee Whorton each had an assist. Bliss hosts Wendell on Thursday.The Cutthroats travel to Wendell next Tuesday.
JEROME – At the Jerome Country Club Championships, Colt Jones shot a 139 to earn the men’s club champion crown, and Babe Hansen shot a 165 to win the women’s club.
On the men’s side, Colt Jones shot a 139 to win first gross in the championship flight, and Kirby Nebeker shot a 132 to win first net.
In first flight, Sam Osborn Jr. shot a 154 to win first gross, and J.D. Davis shot a 131 to win first net. In second flight, Logan Briggs shot a 155 to win first gross, and Dave Coates shot a 130 to win first net.
On the women’s side, Babe Hansen shot a 165 to take home first gross in the championship flight. Lauralee Ericson shot a 136 to win first net.
In first flight, Kristin Box shot a 178 to win first gross, and the Times-News‘ own Diane Philbin shot a 141 to win first net.
In the second flight, Debra Schvaneveldt shot a 203 to win first gross, and Dawn Pond shot a 147 to win first net.
Logan Briggs, with a 132, was the overall men’s net champion. Lauralee Ericson’s 136 was the best women’s new score.
At another recent tournament, the Con Paulos Chevrolet Two-Person classic, Kellen Nebeker/Jeff Burnham shot a 125 to win first gross in the championship flight. Josh Hagley/Scott Stanger shot a 118 to win first net.
Gary Krumm/Bruce Harmon shot a 139 to win first gross in the first flight, and Chuck Marshall/Bill Hall shot a 118 to win first net. In second flight, Tony Chrz/Scott Burton shot a 142 to win first gross, and Kim Lee/Sage Lee shot a 125 to win first net.
On the women’s side, Janet Cantor/Diane Philbin shot a 168 to win first gross. Melanie Brown/Shawn Ridenour shot a 137 to win first net.
