Twin Falls 44, Jerome 34

JEROME — The Tigers started their home game hot against, but ended up falling to the Bruins.

Jerome took a 17-8 first quarter lead, but the Bruins outscored the Tigers 30-6 in the second and third quarters combined.

“Twin Falls’ pressure got to us there in the middle of the game,” Jerome head coach Joe Messick said.

James Slone led the game with 19 points for the Tigers, including five 3-pointers. Ryan Ball and Mitchell Brizee contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Twin Falls.

The Bruins (7-7, 4-2) will travel to Pocatello on Friday to take on Highland. Jerome (5-10, 2-3) will host Buhl the same day.

BURLEY — The Bobcats remained undefeated in Great Basin Conference play with Wednesday’s win. No other details were available.

Burley (10-3, 5-0) plays at rival Minico on Friday, and Wood River (4-11, 0-5) plays at Twin Falls on Wednesday.

Declo 57, Kimberly 54

DECLO — The 2A Hornets rallied past the 3A Bulldogs for a tight win Wednesday night.

Declo trailed 29-23 at halftime but outscored Kimberly 15-11 in the third quarter and 19-14 in the fourth.

“We’re making good strides,” Declo coach Jacoby Fox said. “Any time you can play a game like that against a team like Kimberly, who’s always tough, you know you’re going in the right direction.”

Trey Smyer scored 14 points, Bart Gibby had 12 and Keegan Duncan added 10 for the Hornets (11-3), who host Valley on Saturday.

Trey Garey scored a game-high 18 points, Connor Golay had 13 and Noah Mooney added 11 for the Bulldogs (8-5), which hosts Gooding on Friday.

CAREY — The Panthers held Glenns Ferry to seven points in the first half, and held that lead for a win at home.

“We just played really good defense for much of the game,” Carey head coach Dick Simpson said.

Hayden Wayment led all scorers with 14 points for the Panthers. Kody Henslee topped the Glenns Ferry scoring with 10 points.

Carey (12-2, 4-0) will travel to Hansen on Friday, while the Pilots (5-7, 3-2) will host Oakley on Thursday.

OAKLEY — The No. 2 Hornets stung the Trojans from the start in their win on Wednesday.

Oakley jumped out to a 21-3 lead and never looked back, led by their defense, according to head coach Matt Payton.

“We played with a great defensive intensity throughout the game,” he said.

Oakley’s Rachael Mitton scored 17 points from the post to lead all scorers, and Amanda Carpenter added 11 points for the Trojans.

Oakley (16-0, 8-0) will stay at home against Declo on Friday, and Raft River (3-14, 2-7) will host Murtaugh on Saturday.

Castleford (0-15) plays at Richfield on Tuesday.
