Canyon Ridge 1, Burley 0 (PK)

After a scoreless regulation and 10 minutes of scoreless sudden death overtime, the Riverhawks made all of four of their shots in penalty kicks, while Burley was held to just one conversion by goalkeeper Jair Garibay, as Canyon Ridge advances to play at Wood River on Saturday.

Leo Triana, Abdegladhir Mohammed, Armando Tapia and Samir Rana were the penalty kick scorers for the Riverhawks.

“It was a very physical game that required my boys to maintain their composure and focus on playing within our style,” said Canyon Ridge head coach Corey Farnsworth. “I am very proud of the way we continued to fight for another and rally together to win our way into the semifinals. Burley played a good game definitely made us earn the victory.”

Jerome 2, Minico 1

Juan Rocha and Baldomero Sandoval scored for the Tigers, with each goal coming in a decisive first half. The Tigers plays Twin Falls at the Sunway Soccer Complex in the next round of the District IV boys soccer tournament.

Wendell 1, Gooding 1

Louis Rodriguez scored for Wendell as the Trojans played to a tie with the Senators. Wendell (3-7-2) will play Buhl in the Saturday first round of Districts at Buhl.


Minico 3, Jerome 0

JEROME — The Spartans bested the host Tigers, 25-11, 25-18, 25-14 in the Great Basin Conference match. Minico sophomore Taylia Stimpson registered a game high 11 kills, Sydney Dozier had nine digs, and libero Shelby Mackay had four aces. For Jerome, Erica Reynoso and libero Vivi Ortega each had 11 digs and setter Brooklyn Jackson had nine assists. Minico hosts Burley and Jerome hosts Twin Falls on Tuesday.

Gooding 3, Kimberly 0

GOODING — The Senators improved to 4-1 in the Sawtooth Central Idaho Conference with the home 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 win over the Bulldogs. Tessa Conrad recorded a team-high 14 kills, Grace Parker followed with 11 and Bailey Price had nine.. Callie Graves dished out 30 assists. Kimberly hosts Declo and Gooding (10-2, 4-1) hosts Buhl on Tuesday.

Carey 3, Richfield 0

RICHFIELD — Carey won on the road defeating Richfield 25-19, 25-15, 26-24 in the Northside Conference match. Samee Hamilton led the Tigers offense with 14 kills and Richfield coach Max Piper credited Jennifer Fajardo with playing a very strong defensive game. Carey is at Hansen on Monday. Richfield hosts Murtaugh on Tuesday.
