The competitiveness of the North Side Conference girls basketball season was reflected in the all-conference selections, which were announced Tuesday night.

The conference’s most valuable player was Lighthouse Christian senior Chloe Gomez. Carey junior Athana Versis received offensive player of the year honors, and Dietrich senior Jaxen Eggleston was named the defensive player of the year. Dietrich’s Acey Shaw earned coach of the year honors.

Carey had two players on the all-conference first team and one on the second team. Dietrich earned one first-team selection, two second-team spots and one on the third team, while Lighthouse Christian had a first- and third-teamer.

Jenna Benites (first team) and Abby Suitter (third) were Murtaugh’s all-conference representatives. Yolanda Alaniz (second team) and Kendy Kenney (third) represented Hansen, Shelby Buckner (second) represented Richfield and Ashlynn Whittle (third) represented Camas County.

Dietrich unseated Carey for the district championship after finishing third in the conference behind the Panthers and Lighthouse Christian in the regular season. Dietrich and Carey both reached the 1A Division II state tournament, but the Blue Devils went two-and-out, and the Panthers lost to Tri-Valley in the consolation final.

The all-conference selections were determined by North Side Conference coaches.
