Great Basin Conference championship
The Great Basin Conference championship game, scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m., was cancelled due to rain and will not be made up.
Despite entering the district tournament as the No. 2 seed, Twin Falls was named the Great Basin Conference champion for the fifth consecutive season after going 2-0 in the tournament, including a 4-1 win over top-seeded Minico in Tuesday’s semifinal game.
The Bruins will play Middleton, the third seed out of District 3, in the first round of the 4A state tournament at 10 a.m. Thursday at Melaleuca Field in Idaho Falls.
Minico got District 4’s No. 2 seed at state and will play host Idaho Falls, the top seed out of District 5-6, at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Region 18 championship
The Region 18 title game between top-seeded College of Southern Idaho and No. 2 Salt Lake Community College, scheduled for Saturday at noon, was postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up on Sunday at noon back at CSI’s Skip Walker Field. If the Golden Eagles, who are 2-0 in the tournament, fall in that game, there will be a winner-take-all game 30 minutes after the conclusion of the noon game.
Declo 17, McCall-Donnelly 16
MOUNTAIN HOME — Declo advanced to the 2A state tournament with a win over the Vandals in Saturday’s state play-in game. No other details were available.
The Hornets (16-8-1) will open the tournament against District 6’s top seed, West Jefferson, at 9 a.m. Friday at OK Ward Park in Pocatello.
Timberlake 7, Buhl 5
LEWISTON — The Indians dropped dropped Saturday’s 3A state play-in game. No other details were available.
Buhl finished its season at 11-15.
