TWIN FALLS — The College of Southern Idaho men’s basketball team was on fire offensively in a 128-86 victory over Columbia Basin Friday night to open the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout.
CSI shot 55.2 percent from the field, grabbed 52 rebounds and dished out 33 assists as a team in the game. Seven Golden Eagles scored in double figures.
Thomas Khalid led the way for CSI with 22 points (7-10 on field goals, 8-8 on free throws) and a game-high 12 rebounds. Roche Grootfaam scored 16 points (5-of-6 on field goals), Charles Jones Jr. had 15 (6-of-16) and Nic Aguirre Urritia had 14 (5-of-6, 4-of-5 on 3-pointers).
Roberto Gittens added 12 points (5-of-7 from the field), Jake Hendricks had 11 (4-of-11) and Malik Porter scored 10 on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting performance.
The Golden Eagles (4-1) play Treasure Valley on Saturday to wrap up the home tournament.
