SALT LAKE CITY – CSI volleyball went 2-0 on day two of the Salt Lake City Community College Tournament Saturday. Overall, the eighth-ranked Golden Eagles went 3-1 in the tournament, with the lone loss coming to top-ranked Miami-Dade Community College.

In game one Saturday, CSI beat 15th-ranked Northwest College 3-1 (25-13, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13). Shiloh Peleras led the way for the Golden Eagles with 16 kills and nine blocks.

In game two, CSI swept Otero College 25-19, 25-16 and 25-12. Freshman Airi Miyabe had 10 kills and 12 digs, and two other Golden Eagles had nine kills. Peleras also had three more blocks.

CSI (8-1) next hosts Monroe Community College Thursday in day one of its Starr Invitational. The Golden Eagles play one game Thursday, two games Friday and two more games Saturday.
