ST. GEORGE, Utah — The College of Southern Idaho baseball team beat Northeastern Junior College 5-2 and 10-6 in Friday’s doubleheader.

In game one, the Golden Eagles scored one run in the top of the first inning and carried that 1-0 lead with them to the seventh, when they scored four times.

CSI starting pitcher Mason Foltz, who recently committed to Division II Dixie State University, allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, no walks and seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.

At the plate for CSI, Hayden Leatham went 2-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases, Collin Gordon went 2-for-4 and Austin Wickham went 1-for-1 with a two-run double.

In the second game, CSI starter Colton Westfall allowed one unearned run on five hits, three walks and three strikeouts in five innings. Nolan Walker went 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk, Nick Dolce went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and Collin Gordon went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.

CSI (9-2) will wrap up the four-game series on Saturday morning.
