LOGAN, Utah – The College of Southern Idaho men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Utah for the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational Friday afternoon. Eric Fitzpatrick of the men’s team took second overall, and Shaylee Hill took seventh on the women’s side.

The CSI men’s team finished second overall behind just Utah State and Weber state. The women’s team finished fifth overall, behind Brigham Young University, Utah State, Utah and Weber State.

“We had a tough workout Tuesday, so I knew going in they would feel tired and flat. But that’s part of the process, so we are prepared and ready in November,” CSI head coach Lindsey Anderson said in a press release. “I was happy with our performances on both sides with the tough competition we faced.”

Both the men’s and women’s team for the startup cross country program are ranked in the top 20 in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll. The women check in at seventh, and the men are ranked 20th.

The Golden Eagles travel to Pocatello next Saturday to compete in a meet hosted by Idaho State University.
