ONTARIO, Ore. — The first time the College of Southern Idaho volleyball team beat Treasure Valley CC this season, the win preceded a loss to Salt Lake CC.
On Tuesday, the Golden Eagles beat TVCC proceeding a loss to SLCC.
CSI, the No. 5-ranked Division I team in the NJCAA, swept the Chukars 25-14, 25-16, 25-14 on Tuesday night. The victory improved the Golden Eagles’ record to 24-3.
CSI swept TVCC at home on Sept. 25, then got swept by SLCC on the road four days later.
This past Saturday, the Golden Eagles lost to the Bruins in an intense five sets at home.
Tuesday’s match went much smoother.
CSI sophomore Lacey McEwen had a team-high 10 kills, plus nine digs. Freshman Sacha Legros also had nine digs, along with nine kills, and Maysie Rongen added six kills.
Makayla Bradford led the Golden Eagles with 16 digs, and fellow freshman Elle Nesbitt had 24 assists and seven digs.
CSI has three matches before the Region 18 tournament begins. The Golden Eagles will host Scenic West Athletic Conference opponent Utah State Eastern on Friday, then wrap up the regular season at home Saturday against Colorado Northwestern CC (SWAC) and Blue Mountain CC (nonconference).
