PRICE, Utah — The College of Southern Idaho volleyball team suffered its second loss and first sweep of the season at Salt Lake CC two Fridays ago. CSI had no trouble bouncing back.

The No. 4-ranked Golden Eagles (21-2) swept Colorado Northwestern CC and Utah State Eastern on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The road wins improved CSI’s Scenic West Athletic Conference record to 4-1.

CSI swept CNCC 25-18, 25-18, 25-9 Friday night in Rangely, Colo. No further details were available.

Saturday’s match at USU Eastern was closer than Friday’s — 25-23, 25-18, 25-23 — but the end result was no different.

The Golden Eagles edged USU Eastern 54-34 in kills, 54-31 in assists and 9-3 in blocks.

Jovana Vukcevic led CSI with 17 kills, and she added two blocks. Airi Miyabe had 14 kills, two blocks and an ace, Shiloh Peleras tallied seven kills and five blocks. Morgan Weatherwax dished out 47 assists and had three blocks.

The Golden Eagles go back on the road this coming week for two more SWAC matches. First, on Thursday, they face No. 9-ranked Snow, which they beat in five sets at home on September 23. On Saturday, CSI travels to Southern Nevada.
