EPHRAIM, Utah — The College of Southern Idaho volleyball team beat Snow College in five sets for the second time in as many matchups this season.

After a thrilling five-set victory over Snow on Sept. 23, the No. 4-ranked Golden Eagles beat the No. 7 Badgers 16-25, 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 15-8 on the road Thursday night.

The Golden Eagles also lost the first set in their first victory over Snow.

CSI’s Shiloh Peleras and Jasmyn Keohohina-Malina combined for 23 kills and eight blocks in the win, while Airi Miyabi had 15 kills and 11 digs.

Lacey McEwan had seven kills and nine digs, Jojo Kruize had 14 digs and Morgan Weatherwax finished with 45 assists.

CSI wraps up its five-match road stretch on Saturday at Southern Nevada.

CSI softball earns academic distinction

The CSI softball team finished with the top GPA at the junior college level, according to a release by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The Golden Eagles’ cumulative GPA was 3.686, edging out East Mississippi CC (3.643) and Allen CC (3.630).

This is the first time CSI has held the top GPA spot since 2014-15, according to the release.
