Former College of Southern Idaho pitcher Tyler Barrett was selected Tuesday by the Detroit Tigers in the 20th round (617th overall) of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.

As a fourth-year junior for the Lewis-Clark State Warriors in 2011, Barrett went 7-3 with a 2.79 ERA, striking out 73 batters in 67 2-3 innings.

During his time in a Golden Eagle uniform (2008-09 season), the 6-foot-3 southpaw went 7-6 with a 4.16 ERA, fanning 83 in 106 innings.
