AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Shao-Ching Chiang allowed just five hits over six innings, leading the Akron RubberDucks over the Altoona Curve in a 4-1 win on Monday.
Chiang allowed one run while striking out two and walking two.
Altoona got on the board first with a run in the fourth inning. After reaching base on a walk, Will Craig advanced to second on a single by Logan Hill, went to third on a sacrifice bunt, and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Ke'Bryan Hayes.
The RubberDucks tied it up in the sixth inning when Sicnarf Loopstok hit an RBI triple, bringing home Willi Castro.
The RubberDucks took the lead for good in the eighth when Bobby Bradley hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Sam Haggerty.
Dominic DeMasi (1-0) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Jake Brentz (0-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
Hayes singled three times for the Curve.
