Thank you to firemen

Hooray to the wonderful fire department at the southside station on Washington Street. My neighbor had fallen, and she called 911; but when the response of the ambulance, fire department and police got there her house was all locked up. They had to break in the glass door and front door. When my neighbor was in the ambulance and leaving, the firemen took the time to get the doors back to normal so we could lock the doors once again. They went out of their way to help my friend and get things once again secure. I was so impressed with their wonderful thoughtfulness and passion for other people. Great job done, guys!

IVC thanks Curtis Turner Memorial Fund

Interlink Volunteer Caregivers wishes to thank the Curtis Turner Memorial Fund, Unrestricted Southwestern Region in the Idaho Community Foundation for selecting us to receive a generous grant. IVC is honored to have been one of many Idaho nonprofits to receive these much needed funds! The funds will be used to provide volunteers a monthly mileage reimbursement as they use their own vehicles transporting our elderly, disabled and chronically ill citizens, who cannot drive, to their health-related appointments.

IVC’s purpose is to help individuals and families maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life by bringing together persons of goodwill to serve within the community where there are critical unmet needs. As more of our residents face the challenges of trying to age with grace while dealing with chronic diseases or living alone, they require help with needs of everyday living. This grant award will help IVC provide vital transportation services to those that need them most while giving them the “Gift of Home.”

IVC appreciates the Curtis Turner Memorial Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation for recognizing the need to provide such critical services for some of our most vulnerable citizens! From our clients, volunteers, staff, board of directors and donors we wish you a very Merry Christmas and New Year!

Thank you to community for giving

Magic Valley Republican Women wish to thank those who joined us at our annual Christmas party. In place of our usual gift exchange, we asked guests to bring money or food items for the Hagerman and Buhl food banks. We collected over $200 and a good amount of food items.

Thank you to all who attended. This support of our local food banks is an on-going commitment for Magic Valley Republican Women. We continually look for ways to benefit our community. Please save the date, Feb. 17, for our annual crab feed; join us to visit with your friends and neighbors at this fun event.

Thank you to Burley community

We needed a little Christmas and families in Burley felt, heard and saw it at the seventh annual Christmas Light Parade in downtown Burley. Hundreds of community neighbors gathered along the parade route and in Centennial Park.

Lights were ablaze on floats decorated by River Valley Orthodontist; Pioneer Equipment; Idaho Water Sports; Stotz Equipment; All Smiles Dental; Ramsey Heating and Electric; First Federal Savings Bank; Tires West; Idaho Central Credit Union; MANO Rugby Club; Burley and Minico FFA; Aaron’s; River View Urgent Care; Katt Country; Robin’s Roost; Rodeo Queen Mckenna Ward; and the many individuals who participated.

Beautiful music and a sing-along were provided by the missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A huge thank you to the Burley High School Band who braved the cold and entertained us all night long.

Thank you to Sheriff Heward and his department for helping us get the road closed for a safe parade, and to the Burley Fire Department who decorated the park and brought Santa in a truck lit with a thousand lights.

Thank you to Stokes and D.L. Evans Bank for donating the doughnuts, and to Smith’s for the cookies.

Finally, thanks to Santa for coming to Burley to visit with hundreds of children in his workshop at Centennial Park.

Thank you to Con Paulos Chevrolet

As the holiday season comes to a close, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Con Paulos Chevrolet for their sponsorship of Santa’s Cause Inc. during the month of October. With the funds raised through their car drive, we were able to provide gifts and stockings for over 225 foster children. We could not have done this without them! We sincerely appreciate their support of our cause, and the many other charities they support throughout the year. Thank you again Con Paulos and all the team at Con Paulos Chevrolet!

Thanks to dinner sponsors

Bridge Academy recently held their 5th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for our students and their families. We had over 160 people attend the event this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors who make this event a successful one year after year. We also need to thank our student council as well as parents and all staff members who help with setting up and cleaning up.

A very sincere thank you to: Con Agra, Costco, Dart Container, Doug Vollmer, Falls Brand, Great Harvest Bread Company, Pepsi Cola, and Wills Inc. Also thank you to Morgan and Steve Parks, and Mike McArthey for providing entertainment.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated. This is the most anticipated event for Bridge Academy each year and we could not do it without the support of our great sponsors. Thank you.
