Hello, Twin Falls County! I hope 2018 brings hope, happiness and health to everyone. I also want to make sure there are no questions about the upcoming May primary. I will be seeking re-election as your District 3 county commissioner. You elected me to a two-year term last year, which means we are gearing up for 2018 now. I very much appreciate the confidence you have put in me and the opportunity to serve you.

This last year has been very busy. We, as a board of county commissioners, have worked on many projects. We have prudently managed the county's budget; worked with the clerk and other elected officials to move toward paperless claim-filing; consolidated veterans groups and Safe House programs into County West; and worked with the Optimist Foundation to provide a home for at-risk aged-out foster children.

We have diligently been working on approving a planning and zoning draft ordinance that has been sitting idle for several years. This ordinance, when completed, will provide the necessary stepping stone for our strategic and comprehensive plans. We have completed a space-needs study for the future for our jail and courts. As this moves forward, we will be seeking citizen committees to help with decision-making on these projects.

We also weathered and worked through the worst flood our county has seen in decades. We have worked through the process of replacing not one, but two elected official positions due to retirement. This does not cover everything, but I hope it gives you a snapshot of some of our involvement.

I again want to thank you for placing your trust in me, and I look forward to meeting more of our citizens and earning your vote in May.
