I am writing on behalf of Twin Falls County Sheriff Tom Carter. He’s my dad.
Since becoming sheriff in 2009, Tom has achieved the goals he set with the help of a great staff and community. The constant — his unbridled commitment to Twin Falls County. Another invariable — his sincerity when he said he will not be a part of nor will he condone negative comments being made about anyone. He doesn’t believe it helps his efforts for re-election, and he won’t allow incivility or dishonesty to be a reflection of his character. He does not, in any capacity, think he is above the law and he will never put his political views or actions above his duty to uphold the oath he took.
Tom, his team, family and supporters are putting a lot of heart into this campaign and couldn’t be more proud of the results. We had the unfortunate challenge of our endorsement labels mysteriously disappearing with “anonymous” calls to the Times-News following. We are working diligently to remain in compliance with ordinances related to campaign rules. We appreciate those that let us know if there is an issue, and we do our very best to remedy it.
I am proud of Tom. He has made so many positive changes for this county. I would love to see his accomplishments speak for themselves and his goals for the next term to be reached as successfully as they have in his first term.
We welcome anyone who has an issue to come to Tom personally and discuss it. Please remember that these men are real people; they have families, kids, grandkids and, more importantly, they have feelings. We can still treat people with respect despite our differences. If nothing else, please be civil.
Thank you to each and every supporter and please remember to vote Tom Carter on May 15!
