During the last several months I have had the pleasure of volunteering for the Jubilee House here in Twin Falls. They are a Christian-based residential rehabilitation center for women overcoming addiction.

During the girls' stay with Jubilee House they learn life skills for proper coping, financial freedom, spiritual connection, parenting skills among others. Jubilee House currently has a 70 percent success rate for the girls who make it through the program. The women I met during my time here were nearing graduation from the year program. They were each filled with stories of hope and optimism for their futures. I was told without Jubilee and the skills they learned here they would still be running the streets stealing and using.

What intrigued me about this program is their push for giving back to the community. I encourage everyone who would like to help to contact Jubilee House; they are always looking for volunteers and donations to keep cost low so they can help more girls get their lives back on track.

We have a great community here in Twin falls. Most of us have been touched in some way by addiction, whether that be in the form of a family member or friend fighting addiction to a victim of property crime perpetrated by an addict trying to get money for the next fix. We need to band together as a community to help solve the problem of addiction.
