HAZELTON • Jerome County voters approved a supplemental levy renewal Tuesday for the Valley School District.
In total, 306 voters said “yes” to a two-year, $300,000 annual measure – the same amount as previous years. And 154 voters opposed the measure.
Superintendent Dennis Coulter wasn’t immediately available to comment late Tuesday night.
Money will be used partly to maintain several teaching positions, including in art and music.
The 600-student district in Hazelton resurrected its middle and high school music program in 2011 after a four- or five-year hiatus.
