A teenager was injured earlier today while jumping from cliffs at the Hidden Lakes near Twin Falls.

Twin Falls County sheriff's spokeswoman Lori Stewart said this evening that the teenage male, whose name was not released, hit nearby rocks while trying to jump into the water. He then slid from the rocks into the water.

Emergency dispatchers received the call about the accident at 4:47 p.m.

A lifeguard working at nearby Dierkes Lake had the teen on a backboard and stabilized by the time paramedics arrived on scene. The teen was taken by air ambulance to St. Luke's Boise Medical Center, where he was conscious and breathing, Stewart said.
