JACKPOT, Nev. - Two men are dead following a head-on collision near Jackpot on Friday.

Nevada Highway Patrol Lt. Harold Hughes said a 49-year-old Twin Falls man driving a red 1995 Ford Explorer was driving north on U.S. Highway 93 about 20 miles south of Jackpot when his vehicle collided with a silver 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse which was headed south.

The Eclipse was driven by a 39-year-old man from Spring Creek, Nev.

Both drivers died from their injuries, Hughes said.

For unknown reasons the driver of the Eclipse went into the northbound lane, and the vehicle collided head-on with the Explorer, Hughes said.

A 38-year-old woman passenger in the Eclipse was transported by air ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center with unknown injuries, he said.

Troopers are still determining the cause of the crash, Hughes said.

The names of those involved will be released once troopers have confirmed that next of kin have been notified, he said.
