The Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free forum tonight featuring candidates for the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office and the contested state Legislature races in districts 23 and 24.
There will also be a United States Senate debate tonight at the College of Southern Idaho at 7:45 p.m. in the Shields Building, 315 Falls Ave. It's set to be broadcast live on 1310 KLIX radio and will include two of three candidates: Democrat Larry LaRocco and Rex Rammell, an independent. Republican Jim Risch isn't scheduled to attend. The Legislative forum begins at 5:30 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by sheriff candidates. It's scheduled to be held in the Twin Falls City Council Chambers at 305 Third Ave. E.
Four candidates for Twin Falls County Sheriff include: Independent incumbent Wayne Tousley, Republican Tom Carter, and independents Felix Garcia and Martin Jacobs.
In the Legislative races, Democrat Mike Ihler is challenging District 23 Rep. Stephen Hartgen, R-Twin Falls.
Democrat Peter Rickards is running against District 23 Rep. Jim Patrick, R-Twin Falls
Democrat Carolyn Elex-puru, who is challenging District 24 Rep. Sharon Block, R-Twin Falls.
Republican state Sen. Bert Brackett faces Democratic challenger Bill Chisholm for District 23.
