BUHL — To meet the needs of a growing population, St. Luke’s Magic Valley will build a new clinic in Buhl.
The 5,700-square-foot facility will be on Burley Avenue. Construction is slated to begin in late October or early November, St. Luke’s spokeswoman Michelle Bartlome said Thursday.
The estimated $2.4 million project — slated for completion in mid-to-late 2018 — will provide more space for health services in Buhl.
“The reason why we’re building is we need to expand our family practice services to meet the needs of our growing area,” Bartlome said.
The new clinic will replace St. Luke’s existing building on Broadway Avenue South, which has been in use since January 2014.
In addition to family practice, the new facility will include x-ray equipment, lab services, behavioral health and other specialty services.
Currently, there’s only one St. Luke’s physician in Buhl: Dr. Bryan Mason.
“The plan is to add a second family practice provider,” Bartlome said, once the new clinic opens.
