TWIN FALLS - The proof of a top-notch car wash isn’t just in what you see but what you hear.

“People tell me that they can hear the difference,” said Janet Russell, co-owner of the Twin Falls’ Rocket Express Car Wash. “They don’t just see that they have a clean car but they can actually hear the car being washed while they’re on the track.”

For the third year in a row, Rocket Express has been tapped as the best car wash in the Times-News Readers’ Choice awards.

Located at 1122 Blue Lakes Blvd., the bustling car wash has been open since June 2010.

Originally intending to use the coveted property as a strip mall, Janet and her husband Joe decided that a car wash would be a safer business venture in an unstable economy.

Part of the reason for their success, Russell said, is because Rocket Express provides cheap but quality car washes.

Car washes begin at $7 for a basic wash and go as high as $15 for a more detailed exterior wash.

“We found a niche for exterior car washes,” she said.

Every car wash is only four minutes long and the customer never has to leave the vehicle, Russell said.

For $35 a month, avid car washers can become a member in the Unlimited Wash Club. Members can wash their cars as many times as they want and get their own express lane, Russell said.

“We have 2,500 members,” she said. “It’s a popular option.”

Finally, if you’re an owner of a successful car wash, how often do you wash your own vehicle?

“I think my husband washes his almost every day,” Russell said. “I wash mine two or three times a week, depending on the weather.”
