WENDELL — Shiela Rich Dorius, 65, a resident of Wendell, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Bennett Hills Care Center in Gooding.
Shiela was born on November 26, 1951 in Wendell, Idaho, the daughter of Thomas and Pearl Gold Rich. She was raised and educated in Wendell and attended Ricks College and Boise State University.
She married Rex Don Dorius on June 23, 1972 in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple.
She was a very vibrant young woman and mother. In her younger years and before the Multiple Sclerosis prevented it, she played the piano and enjoyed doing needlework including knitting, crocheting and embroidering. She was an active member of the LDS church and enjoyed leading the congregational hymns in Sacrament Meetings. Her father passed away when she was 12 years old.
Shiela loved children and spent many years with a daycare in her home while raising her two daughters. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis as a young mother and struggled with the disease and its effects for the rest of her life.
She is survived by: her two daughters, DawnRae Wheeler (Jason) of Salt Lake City and RaeAnn Moore (Chris) of Spokane, WA; three grandchildren, Parker Wheeler, Hayden Wheeler and Bo Moore; and her brother, Charles Rich.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her ex-husband, Rex Don Dorius.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Wendell Cemetery. No viewing will be held at the family’s request.
