October 23, 1951 – February 28, 2018

HEYBURN — Rex Alan Schorzman, a 66-year-old resident of Heyburn, went to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018.

Rex was one of three children born to Herman Julius and Elsie (Amen) Schorzman on October 23, 1951, in Rupert, Idaho. He graduated from Minico High School and earned an associate degree in agronomics from Idaho State University. In his mid-twenties, Rex opened the landmark local business, Paul Chemical and Fertilizer, where he remained his entire career. Always the outdoor enthusiast, Rex spent as much time as possible skiing, hunting, fishing, and camping in his beloved home state. He was a kind, sweet and gentle man and was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Lisa; his children, Reginald, Derek, Julius, Marcus, Noah and Charlie; five grandchildren; and his sisters, Lila Hart, Judy (Ryan) Culley, Myrna (Tony) Korsen, and Laura (Keith) Burgoyne.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rex was a pillar for his family and community and he will never be forgotten.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at First Christian Praise Chapel, 1110 8th St., in Rupert, with Pastor Justin Williams officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.

Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Monday, preceding the service at the church.
