BURLEY — Ida Mary Price Rittel, a 75-year-old resident of Burley, joined her father and mother on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017. She passed away at Highland Estates Assisted Living in Burley.
She was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Rexburg, Idaho, the third child of Kenneth Glenn and Ida Mary Murdock Price. She attended school in Sugar City and graduated in 1961. After graduation, she attended Ricks College for a year and while there, she met Ted Rittel. They married May 25, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Washington and California prior to settling in Burley. She was a special wife, mother, grandmother to 13, and great-grandmother to 18. She had many talents and was an accomplished seamstress.
Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and, more recently, as a temple worker. In March 2006, she and Ted were called to serve in the Nebraska Omaha Mission for 18 months. It was an exciting time as they served at the Mormon Trail Center (Winter Quarters) and the Kanesville Tabernacle.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ted Rittel; their children and spouses, Michael T. and Jeannie Rittel of Hyrum, Utah, Mary Jane and David Nelson of Spanish Fork, Utah, Todd W. and Amber Rittel of Burley, and Don T. and Tammy Rittel of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters, Verla Jean (Steve) Hedges of Cedar City, Utah, and Judy (Lee) Evans of West Valley, Utah; two brothers, John W. Price of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Robert G. (Martha) Price of Salem, Idaho; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elaine Price (Devon) Sommer; and one sister-in-law, Cheryl Price.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—Burley Stake Center, 2050 Normal Ave., with Bishop Darby V. Hawkes officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, preceding the service at the church.
