Lois Meserole, 96, of Emmett, Idaho, died November 26, 2017. She was born May 27, 1921 in Ashton, Idaho. She was the seventh child born to Charles Ivan ‘Tiny’ and Mary Louise Brown.
In 1930 Lois and her family moved to Gooding, Idaho. She graduated from Gooding High School in 1939.
On August 14, 1942 Lois married Frank G. Meserole at the Methodist Chapel in Reno, Nevada. They lived in San Francisco while Frank was stationed at the Presidio.
After the war, they lived in Gooding with their four children. In 1956 the family moved to Emmett, Idaho.
Lois lived in Emmett for over 60 years and dearly loved this community. She worked for the City of Emmett for 25 years as city librarian, city treasurer and city clerk.
Lois was active in many organizations. She was an avid bowler until the age of 94. She bowled in many leagues and taught Jr. bowlers for 12 years.
She was also involved in the Emmett Senior Center, bridge groups, the Cherry Festival, and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Among her many achievements were Gem County Woman of the Year; induction into the Idaho Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame, and Mrs. Senior Gem County.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her sister Myrt Bartholomew and her four children, Frank Meserole & Louis Meserole, both of Austin, TX, Vicki Petersen of Bend, OR and Becky Watkins of Hazelton, ID; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held at a later date in the summer.
