HEYBURN – Lee Jack Sanchez, an 81-year-old resident of Heyburn, died Saturday, March 3, 2018.
Lee was born May 28, 1936, to Frank Jesus and Semosa Espinoza Sanchez. He completed the 8th grade and received further education in the U.S. Army and school of hard knocks.
He married Lois Ann Anderson on Nov. 16, 1954. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 1994. In May of 2000, he married Maria Luisa Solis, they have enjoyed over 18 wonderful years together.
Lee was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was always willing to help those in need and that were under privileged.
During his life he drove truck for Browning Freight Lines, Kloepfher Inc., and Trans Systems. Lee enjoyed mechanics, woodworking, raising animals, country music, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Lee never met a stranger in his life and seemed to know everyone. One could say visiting acquaintances was his favorite past time.
Lee is survived by his wife Maria Luisa Sanchez of Heyburn; his children, Orella (Kevin) Lewis of Rupert, Lorey Ann (Joe) Masters of Kuna, Robin (April) Stark of Brookings, Ore.; his stepchildren, Alma (Blas) Sanchez of Heyburn, Camilo (Maribel) Sanchez of Burley, Mario Gomez of Heyburn, Francisco (Elizabeth) Gomez of Burley; 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sofia Sanchez of Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Lois Ann; one son, Rick Sanchez; one grandson, LeMar J Sanchez; one stepson, Pedro Alejandro Sanchez; one granddaughter, Adela; and two brothers, Felix Sanchez and Soloman Sanchez.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8th, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Cremation will follow the visitation. Military rites will be provided at a later date by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.
