TWIN FALLS — Kenneth Lawrence Dunken of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away peacefully in his home after a brief illness on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
Ken was born July 30, 1935 in Twin Falls to Lawrence Ray and Margaret Dunken. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1953, where he participated in football and track. He was a student of architecture at Idaho State University for several years where he served as freshman class Vice-President.
Ken and Sharon Simmons were married December 1, 1956 at the Presbyterian Church in Twin Falls. Sharon was the love of his life, but he had many “sweethearts”. Ken and Sharon shared 57 years together and had 3 children, Julie, Tom and Jana.
Ken’s passions in life revolved around family, fishing, hunting, camping, golf, athletics, his dogs and the “Class of 53”. He was the owner and operator of Dunken Distributing for 35 years.
He is survived by his children, Julia (Troy) Clawson; Thomas Dunken; and Jana (Robert) Reeder; his sisters, Leah Jones and Betty (Louis J.) Sitton; his nephews, Timothy (Karen) Jones and William (Anja) Jones; as well as a niece, Nancy Smith; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother-in-law, a grandson and many lifelong friends.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East with Pastor Phil Price officiating. Services are under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory can be made to Idaho Home Health & Hospice, 1411 Falls Ave E in Twin Falls.
