November 27, 1934 – February 7, 2018

Daunna Lenora Lincoln Kirkham was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on November 27, 1934, to Floyd Lincoln and Margaret Schmidt Lincoln. She spent her childhood on a farm working with her Dad and learning to fish, hunt, and ride horses. During her high school years, she took singing and ballet lessons and worked at a floral shop. Daunna used the skills she learned at the floral shop many times over the next 30 years. She played city league softball, entered rodeos, and rode with the Twin Falls Woman’s Posse.

She married Gene Walker in 1952 while he was serving active duty in the United States Marine Corps and they lived on several military bases. They started their family while Gene attended Idaho State College and graduated from the Utah State University. Daunna and Gene helped establish rodeo clubs at both of these universities. Daunna was the first president of the Golden Valley Girl’s Rodeo Association. Daunna and Gene were divorced in 1975.

Daunna graduated from the Ricks College Nursing program and worked at Riverview Hospital. She developed and taught the Health Occupation/CNA program for seniors at Bonneville High School. Her work in this program influenced and enabled hundreds of students to become nurses, doctors, and other health care professionals.

She served with the National Red Cross as a nurse on many disasters including the response to the 9/11 attack in New York City. Daunna loved to ski and served on the Kelly Canyon Ski Patrol for many years.

In 1983 she married Dwain Kirkham of Terreton, Idaho. They were sealed in the LDS temple in 1986. Together, they served an LDS Stake mission. Dwain passed away in 2004. Daunna then served LDS missions in Romania and Salt Lake City. While serving in Salt Lake she found great joy singing with the Elijah Choir. Daunna served as a volunteer at ERMIC, the Idaho Falls Museum and as a reading helper in local grade schools.

Her life revolved around her Church and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dwain Kirkham, her parents Margaret Ann Schmidt and Floyd Ivan Lincoln, a sister Marilyn Lincoln Condie (James), and one grandson, Dylan Walker.

Daunna is survived by her children, Cindy Walker, Clay (Jana) Walker, Jon (Amy) Walker, and Brian (Laurie) Walker, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She also leaves a brother, Ivan Lincoln of Kaysville, Utah.
