MURTAUGH—Alberta (Bert) Mason passed away February 5, 2018 at Grace Assisted Living in Twin Falls, Idaho. Alberta was born October 8, 1939 to Albert and Lucile Bolster Denney in Twin Falls, Idaho. Alberta grew up on a farm in Murtaugh and graduated from Murtaugh High School in 1957.
Alberta had two children. Shauna Harr was born in 1958. Denie Mason was born in 1959. Alberta went back to school and got her nursing degree. Most of her nursing career was at nursing homes. Alberta was an excellent nurse. She touched many lives during her career. Alberta loved spending her time going to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
Alberta married Ted Mason in 1969. They farmed and ranched at Murtaugh until Ted’s death in 2016. Alberta was active in the Desert Gold Cow Bells, and the Idaho Beef Council.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lucile Denney, daughter Shauna Rae, husband Ted Mason, great grandson Kruz Mason, sister Peggy Thurston, brother-in-law Eddie Thurston and niece Colette Woldstad.
She is survived by son Denie Mason, five grandchildren, Brandon Mason (Dawnyl), Justin Stanger (Katie), Derek Stanger (Kasey), Kurt Mason (Lacy), and Cassie Radtke (Tieg), thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister Pauline Thomas (Ike) and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Avenue East, Twin Falls, Idaho with Pastor Chuck Swoboda officiating. Viewing will be at 3:00 PM with the funeral at 4:00 PM on Sunday February 11, 2018. Condolences may be left at www.reynoldschapel.com.
