TWIN FALLS — The city issued a permit for a $2 million addition and remodeling in February — but a Twin Falls official says the building is protected from disclosure.
The permit was issued for 212 Deere St. for an “addition & remodel for offices,” according to the city’s monthly building permit report. But further information could not be obtained by the Times-News because it is a federal building protected from disclosure. Although not classified, it is considered “sensitive,” said Jarrod Bordi from the city building department.
The construction site itself shows partial walls, equipment and cinder blocks. The site is across from Diamond Line Delivery and next to Bottom Line Auto.
Don Anderson Construction is the contractor. The company did not return a call requesting information.
The owner of the building is listed as “Twin Falls Federation, LLC,” but according to Idaho Secretary of State’s Business Entity Search, no such company exists in Idaho.
The company address is listed in Thibodaux, Louisiana. A call to the phone number provided on the permit goes to a pre-recorded greeting for a real estate development company.
Aside from a $15.3 million building at Jayco, the unnamed building at Deere Street was the permit with the highest value for the month.
Other permits to note were six duplexes on Wendell Street. These are owned by Gerald Martens and Tensco.
Bordi said that last year, the city received and approved only three duplex permits. As of last week, there were four more pending for this year.
“That may be a trend for making housing more affordable,” he said.
