HANSEN | A Twin Falls resident died and three people were injured Monday evening when two pickups collided near the Hansen Bridge.
Evette Phillips, 51, died of her injuries at the scene. Phillips was a passenger in a 2010 Ford F150 pickup driven by Jody Neaderhiser, 51, of Eden.
Neaderhiser’s pickup was traveling north on 3800 East when he failed to yield to a stop sign at the intersection with Idaho 50, Idaho State Police reported in a statement. Trevor Dowd, 44, of Twin Falls was traveling westbound on the highway in a 2012 Dodge 2500 pickup, and the pickup collided with the right side of Neaderhiser’s F150.
Neaderhiser, Dowd and Dowd's son, Trell Dowd, 21, were all transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. Neaderhiser was reported in fair condition Tuesday morning at St. Luke's Magic Valley. Trell Dowd was treated and released from the hospital, an ISP trooper said.
All parties were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, ISP reported.
The westbound lanes of Idaho 50 were blocked and traffic was diverted around the scene for about four hours. The crash occurred at 9:57 p.m. Monday and is still under investigation.
