Boy Scouts visit the Oregon Trail south of Milner Reservoir.

BURLEY — The Bureau of Land Management Burley Field Office will hold an open house on Wednesday to update the public on proposed improvements and the conceptual plans for the Milner Historic Recreation Area.

The open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Burley office, 15 E. 200 S.

The office has immediate plans to install informational trailhead signs at the west and east sides of the National Historic Oregon Trail that crosses through the area.

The trailhead signs will provide educational background information on the Oregon Trail and inform the public about future improvements to the area that are planned.

Plans also include designing and installing a new boat ramp to improve Snake River access.

The agency is requesting funding for the changes to the recreation area from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation.
