Lyda Southard

A $50 reward was offered for the capture of Lyda Southard after she escaped in 1931 from the Idaho State Penitentiary in Boise.

1913 — Lyda gives birth to Loraine Dooley.

1915 — Edward Dooley, Robert Dooley and Loraine Dooley all die.

1916 — Lyda marries Billy McHaffie.

1918 — Billy McHaffie dies.

1919 — Lyda marries Harlan Lewis. Lewis dies later that year. 

1920 — Lyda marries Edward Meyer. Meyer dies later that year. 

1921 — Lyda marries Paul Southard.

1921 — Lyda arrested in Honolulu.

1921 — French reporter coins the term “serial killer” in reference to Lyda.
