Twin Falls is rich with trails for walking, running or biking.
For example, Rock Creek Park offers a 1.4-mile walk past playground equipment, a disc golf course and picnic pavilions. Rock Creek Park is 1/4 mile west of County West; look for the park entrance sign on the north side of U.S. 30.
Centennial Trail is about 1.5 miles long, starting at Shoshone Falls Park, climbing the Snake River Canyon wall and heading west along the rim to Evel Knievel’s jump site.
The College of Southern Idaho Fitness Trail is 2 miles long and features trees, shrubs and a disc golf course. The path also has fitness stations offering exercises for beginners through advanced levels.

Diabetes Prevention Program
If you’ve been diagnosed with prediabetes, it’s not too late to do something about it. Diabetes Prevention Programs in Gooding and Shoshone meet once a week for 16 weeks, then once a month for eight months, to maintain healthy lifestyle changes. All classes are led by a trained lifestyle coach. Participants learn about and practice healthy eating and physical activity habits to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
For information, call North Canyon Medical Center at 208-934-9886 or Shoshone Family Medical Center at 208-886-2224.
Bariatric Support Group
Whether you’ve had weight loss surgery or are thinking about it, this monthly support group helps people at every stage of their surgery journey. The meetings are facilitated by licensed bariatric health care professionals.
Examples of support group topics: “Exercise Fun in the Sun” and “Medical Health after Surgery.” A quarterly clothing exchange for those who have lost weight keeps you from having to buy a whole new wardrobe repeatedly while your weight drops. There is also an annual Christmas party.
The group meets 7-8 p.m. one Monday each month (Sept. 11, Oct. 2 and Nov. 6 are the next dates) in the Oak 1 room at St. Luke’s Magic Valley; registration is not required.
