SAN ANTONIO • The Twin Falls soldier injured in a Feb. 7 explosion in Afghanistan continues to recover in a San Antonio hospital.
On Sunday, the family of Army Pvt. Terence “Bo” Jones released the first picture of the recovering soldier since he was severely injured Feb. 7 by an improvised explosive while patrolling in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.
Jones, who lost both legs in the explosion and suffered severe damage to his left arm, is pictured giving a thumbs-up gesture to the camera while he recovers at Brooke Army Medical Center.
The 21-year-old soldier was flown from Afghanistan to Germany, and later to the U.S. during his recovery from the attack.
On March 24, supporters of Jones and his family will hold a fundraiser raffle and auction with live music at Montana Steak House, 1826 Canyon Crest Drive, Twin Falls. The event will begin with a 3 p.m. raffle, with a 7 p.m. auction to follow. One free beverage will be provided for each raffle ticket purchased.
Businesses or individuals wishing to donate raffle or auction items may drop them off at Montana Steak House.
Also, a “Terence Lonnie Jones Foundation” account has been set up, and donations to help the family’s expenses can be made at all Magic Valley Wells Fargo Bank locations.
