TWIN FALLS — Are you making a list, checking it twice and feeling a bit overwhelmed? A new downtown business says it can make custom gift baskets for everyone on your Christmas list.
Gifted, a custom gift and gift basket shop, opened earlier this month at 423 Main Ave. E. The business is a Twin Falls version of a similar store in Las Vegas owned by Krystina Butenschoen.
“Initially, we were going to do a pop-up (shop),” Butenschoen said. “That’s just not a thing here.”
So when she found a vacant building just at the fringes of the newly reconstructed blocks of Main Avenue, she thought she’d give it a go.
Gifted is owned and operated by three sisters and offers individual items and customized baskets for occasions such as holidays, birthdays, date nights and housewarming parties.
“We’re just trying to make everyone’s lives easier,” Lorrinda Butenschoen said. “We also do free deliveries.”
There are several different ways people can do business with Gifted. The first option is to come into the store itself and choose items you think the person on your list would like. The store carries a variety of housewares, decorations, spa items and foods.
Each item can be purchased separately or incorporated into a gift basket, with discounts when you buy three items or more (including the basket).
Customers can also request a customized gift basket or personal shopping for multiple people on their lists. You can have the owners build a basket around a certain theme or item — or by providing them with details about the recipient’s hobbies, favorite colors and collections.
Krystina Butenschoen said she can work with budgets from $10 and up. Personal shopping services for multiple gifts will have a percentage-based fee.
“It’s still your gift at the end of the day, because it’s based on details you gave me,” she said.
The art of gift-giving is something Krystina Butenschoen enjoys. The Las Vegas woman opened her Nevada shop after running a law office for four years. She was looking for a less stressful career.
“You just kind of figure it out as you go — and sometimes it’s hard,” she said. “When you do a gift for someone you know, I think there’s more pressure.”
Gifted also has pre-made baskets at its store, such as a Christmas-morning basket that includes a mini-griddle.
“I liked the date-night baskets,” said Audri Yocham, who helped create the baskets that include two glasses and some sparkling cider.
The store can also make custom T-shirts and custom signs with three days’ notice, Lorrinda Butenschoen said.
In addition to its gift items, Gifted has Christmas trees available, complete with decorations. For $35, they will come install it at your home or business.
So far, most of the store’s orders have been from other businesses — such as Realtors seeking housewarming gifts, or vendors seeking marketing gifts. But as the seasons change, Krystina Butenschoen hopes to get more people seeking personal shopping and gift baskets.
Gifted will have specials for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Its hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Wednesday.
