TWIN FALLS — Ryan Ellsworth will be the new principal for South Hills Middle School in Twin Falls.
School trustees approved the hire during their Monday night meeting. Construction of South Hills Middle School is slated for completion in May, with students arriving in August for next school year.
Ellsworth is principal at Jerome Middle School, a position he has filled since 2013. Before that, he was Jerome Middle School’s assistant principal and athletic director.
“I am most excited to open a new school and be a part of the community in Twin Falls,” he said in a statement. “I see many exciting things happening in Twin Falls, and as much as I love Jerome, I am excited about the new opportunity.”
Ellsworth started his teaching career in Fruitland, where he taught third grade. He received his teaching degree from Boise State University and a degree in educational leadership from Northwest Nazarene University.
Ellsworth will work with other Twin Falls School District employees to prepare for the opening of South Hills Middle School, including hiring staff members.
