TWIN FALLS — Longtime Twin Falls educator Ace Marcellus has been hired as Vera C. O’Leary Middle School principal.
The Twin Falls school board made the decision Thursday, the district announced.
“I’m excited to return to the O’Leary team to work with the dedicated and incredible staff as they create the synergy needed to realize the goals and aspirations of the students, staff, parents, and community,” Marcellus said in a statement.
Marcellus has worked for the Twin Falls School District for 20 years — most recently, as Robert Stuart Middle School’s associate principal since 2013.
He started his teaching career in Silver Lake, Ore., where he taught junior high and high school science and physical education. Then, he was a seventh-grade life science teacher at O’Leary for 16 years and an instructional coach.
Marcellus has a bachelor’s degree in biology and a secondary education certification from Boise State University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Idaho, and an educational specialist degree from Northwest Nazarene University.
He replaces former O’Leary principal Keelie Campbell, who took a school district administration job with a neighboring district.
