TWIN FALLS — Debbie Critchfield of Oakley was named vice president of the Idaho Board of Education, the group announced Friday.

The board elected new officers for the upcoming year during its meetings Wednesday and Thursday in Coeur d’Alene.

Critchfield, who has been on the board since July 2014, works as spokeswoman for the Cassia County School District. Her board term expires in 2018.

Linda Clark will serve as board president and David Hill as secretary. Officers are elected in June each year.

They’ll provide leadership to the state board as they consider public education policies, set tuition and fees for Idaho’s public colleges and universities, and provide governance over elementary through higher education systems.
