TWIN FALLS — Police have arrested an 80-year-old man they say planned to sell a pound of marijuana to a confidential informant.

Daniel Joseph Bunch of Twin Falls was arraigned Wednesday on a felony charge of marijuana trafficking. Police said they seized more than five pounds of marijuana from Bunch.

Bunch was charged with drug possession in 2015 when police said they found 19 pounds of marijuana in Bunch’s home, hidden in a false compartment in a water heater in his kitchen.

Court records show he was sentenced to three years of probation in that case.

Tuesday evening, Idaho State Police set up their sting. A police informant planned to buy a pound from Bunch for $1,900 near the 1500 block of Kimberly Road.

Police pulled Bunch over and reported finding the pound of marijuana and $1,400 cash. Later, police found about four more pounds of pot in a trailer owned by a friend of Bunch.
