TWIN FALLS — A man suspected of drug trafficking has been charged with shooting at an Idaho state trooper in the Twin Falls Walmart parking lot last weekend.
Arcenio Solorio Sosa, 26, shot at an Idaho State Police officer during a trafficking arrest early Saturday morning, according to court documents. He was arraigned Thursday on amended charges of aggravated assault, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance, with bond set at $1 million.
While troopers were attempting to arrest Sosa and Carlos Tafolla Bonifacio, 24, of Jerome, Sosa fired a hand gun at an officer, according to court documents. The officer wasn’t hit or injured.
Approximately $75,000 worth of drugs were taken as evidence from the scene, an Idaho State Police statement said. Bonifacio has been charged with trafficking in marijuana as well, with bond set at $500,000.
A preliminary hearing for Sosa is set for Dec. 15.
