TWIN FALLS — Twin Falls County Assessor Gerald Bowden’s last day on the job is Friday.
Bowden will retire on his 69th birthday after working more than 40 years for Twin Falls County — and 23 of those as the county assessor.
An open house is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in Conference Room B on the ground floor of the County West building, 630 Addison Ave. W. The public is welcome to attend.
From the date of his retirement, the Twin Falls County Republican Central Committee has 15 days to submit three names to the County Commission — four people have applied. The commission will then have 15 days to appoint the new assessor.
The county assessor is an elected position, but Bowden’s retirement comes with one year left in his term.
