KIMBERLY • Modern Woodmen of America members in Kimberly will provide assistance to Kimberly’s new Rock Creek Food Pantry. The local Modern Woodmen chapter will donate non-perishable food items and shelving as part of the organization’s Care and Share and Good Neighbors Program.

Care and Share is a nationwide program that offers Modern Woodmen chapters an opportunity to provide up to $250 of basic life necessities to individuals and families in need in their communities. Each year, members from more than 600 chapters purchase and donate thousands of dollars worth of food, clothing and more.

“When a family needs household items after a natural disaster or other crisis or a shelter or food pantry needs more supplies to help families, Modern Woodmen members can help through this annual project,” said Terry Downs, local Modern Woodmen chapter activities coordinator.

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to take part in social activities and community service projects to meet local needs.

A “Stock the Shelves Donation Event” will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the food pantry. For more information about donating to the food pantry or to get involved, call Downs at 208-316-2244.

As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve quality of life for its members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities.
