Polegay was nominated by members of Unit 46. She quilts hundreds of lap robes which she gives to Idaho veterans. She was presented with her award by Unit 46 President Diane Poston Nov. 11 at the Jerome American Legion Hall during the Veterans Day award ceremony to her surprise.

Polegay is always in need of material, thread, and batting to create more lap robes. To donate any materials for this project, call 208-944-4300 and leave a message or come to the auxiliary meeting at 4 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the American Legion Hall, 700 N. Lincoln, Jerome.
