TWIN FALLS — The College of Southern Idaho Community Education Center is offering a “Kombucha Brewing” workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 in the CSI Desert Building, room 114.
Kombucha is a fermented beverage of tea and sugar that contains bacteria and yeast, resulting in a beverage with health benefits such as improved digestion, weight loss, increased energy, cleansing and detoxification, immune support, reduced joint pain, and cancer prevention, said a statement from CSI Community Education.
Kirsten Clancy, a local yoga instructor, will lead the workshop with hands-on instruction on brewing basics of how to brew, flavor, store and share Kombucha. Attendees will also take home a Kombucha Brewing Kit that includes a live symbiotic culture of bacterial yeast in starter liquid, large glass container, cheesecloth, tea, sugar, and recipes.
Cost of the class is $50. Students can register or learn more about this and other classes at csi.edu/communityed, at the CSI Community Education Center, or by calling 208-732-6442.
