SHOSHONE — Comment on proposed road reconstruction at an open house between 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Idaho Transportation Department District 4 Office, 216 S. Date St., Shoshone. Review plans for a 4.7-mile section of U.S. 26 west of Shoshone — from Ohlinger Road to the U.S. 26/U.S. 93 junction. Improvements will include removing asphalt, regrading the road base and repaving.
There will also be plans for work in the city of Shoshone — including repairing and replacing the storm-water system, installing new ADA-compliant sidewalk approaches, and work at the Apple Street railroad crossing. Temporary closures of sidewalks and city streets will be necessary.
Project team-members will be available to discuss roadway safety improvements and expectations during construction, which is planned for 2019.
Written testimony will be accepted at the meeting, but may be submitted through March 2. Comments can be mailed to ITD District 4, Attn: Douglas Yearsley, 216 S. Date St., Shoshone, ID 83352 or emailed to email@example.com.
